ASTM A36 — Most General Structural Carbon Steel

A36 은 ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials :
미국 재료 시험 학회)의 구조용강 규격을 말하고

A는 Ferrous Metals로 Iron and Steel Products
(철강 제품)를 지칭합니다.

A36 에서 나타나는 규격 번호는,
다른 ASTM 철강 규격에서도 마찬가지지만

어떤 규칙성이나 통일성이라고는
찾아볼 수 없습니다.

A36 에서 20t 이하인 경우
철강의 5대 성분 C : 탄소, Si : 규소, Mn : 망간, P : 인, S : 황 중에서

C   :   탄소를 0.25%이하
Si   : 규소를 0.40%이하
Mn : 망간은 규정 없음 (20t 이상은 있음)
P   :   인은 0.040% 이하
S   :   황은 0.050% 이하로

관리 생산된 강철을 공급하라고,
규정하고 있는 강종입니다.

항복강도는 250MPa이하
인장강도는 400~550으로 생산되는 강종입니다.

많이 찾고 사용되는 Structural Steel이지만
국내에서 ASTM규격으로 철강 제품이

모두 생산되지는 않고 있어,
어려움을 겪는 강재 입니다.

※ Yield Strength
Value of load strength which a specified permanent elongation
occurs in tensile test, expressed by dividing the load by original
sectional area of parallel portion.

For material which dose not exhibit clear yield point,
the yield strength is used instead of yield point.

※ Tensile Strength
Value of maximum load during tensile test divided by the
original sectional area of parallel portion.

As for materials in which the maximum load withstood by test piece
after yielding is lower than the upper yield point, it shall be the
value of the maximum load after yielding divided by original
sectional area of parallel portion.

※ Steel for structure (구조용강)
Steel products manufactured for building, bridges, ships, vehicles,
and other structure uses, which require high strength,
if required weldability as well

건축, 교량, 선박, 차량, 기타의 구조물용으로서 강도 및 필요에 따라
용접성을 중시하여 제조 된 강재를 말합니다.
