S460N , S460NL 모두 S460 계열의
EN 10025-3 의 강종 규격입니다.

EN10025-Part 3 은 용접성을 가지는
세립 구조용강 (Fine grain structural steel)이며

Normalizing 열처리 강재를 말하고
용접, 볼트, 리벳으로의 연결이 가능한 강재 입니다.

S460 에서 “S” 는 Structural를 의미하고
S460 에서의 숫자 “460”은

두께 16t 이하 강판의 최소 항복 강도를 말합니다.
S460N 에서의 “N” 은

Normalizing 열처리 강재임을 의미하고 S460NL 에서의
“L”은 -50℃ 에서 충격 시험 조건을 말합니다.

“L”이 없는 S460N 인 경우 -20℃에서의 충격 시험과는 다름으로
충격 시험의 조건을 강종만 보고도 단박에 알 수 있게 만든 EN Code입니다.

또한 “L”이 붙은 경우는
“L”이 없는 경우보다 비금속 개재물인 P.S의 값이 높으며

S460N , S460NL 강재 모두 Longitudinal (압연 방향)과
Transverse (두께 방향) 각각의 Charpy V-Notch 값을 요구하고 있는 강재 입니다.

S460N , S460NL 과 표기가 비슷한
S460M , S460ML 과의 차이는

“N”이 붙은 경우는 Normalizing 열처리를
“M”이 붙은 경우는 TMCP 열처리로 각각 구분이 가능합니다.

※ Longitudinal directions (압연 방향 : 壓延方向)
The principal direction of flow in a worked steel.
Usually the length of the plate.
Grain direction also runs the length of the plate.

※ Transverse directions (역방향 : 逆方向)
Literally, across usually signifying a direction or plane
perpendicular to the direction of working.
