둘 다, ASTM의
강관에 대한 규격입니다.

A500은 냉간 성형 강관 이고
A501은 열간 성형 강관 입니다.

A500 Pipe 는, Gr.A , Gr.B , Gr.C , Gr.D가 있지만
A501은 Gr.A , Gr.B 두 가지 규격 뿐입니다.

그 중 많이 사용되는
규격은 A500 Gr.B입니다.

주로 각형 강관으로,
정사각관, 직사각관으로 사용되며

A500 GR.B의
인장 강도는 400MPa 이상

항복 강도는 290MPa 이상으로
단지 인장 강도로만 비교한다면

KS의 SS400 규격과
ASTM A36 과 차이는 없습니다.

※  ASTM A501   :  Standard Specification for Hot-Formed Welded and
Seamless Carbon Steel Structural .

※ 열간 가공 (Hot-working : 熱間 加工)
가공 경화가 나타나지 않는 범위 내에서 금속 또는 합금의 소성 변형을 말합니다.

평행부의 원단면적으로 나눈 값
