DH40 은 선박을 만들 때 사용되는 조선용 후판 입니다.
조선용 후판은 컨테이너선, 유조선, 살물선 등을 말하고

컨테이너선은 선박의 갑판에
컨테이너를 싣고 운반하는 선박입니다.

유조선은 정유나 원유 운반선을 말하고,
유조선내는 여러 구획으로나뉘어

선박의 운항 중 원유가, 한쪽으로 쏠려 균형을
잃지 않도록, 여러 구획으로 나뉘어져 있습니다.

살물선은 Bulk선을 말합니다.
곡물, 광물등 포장하지 않은 상태로 운반하는 선박을 말합니다.

DH40 은 Hull 부에 사용되는 강판으로
Hull 은 말 그대로 선체를 의미하지만

선체 중에서도 물 속에 잠겨 보이지 않는
배 밑바닥 (선저부)의 모서리 부분에 주로 채택되어 사용되는 강재입니다.

제조 되어진 DH40 강재는 -20℃에서
55 joule의 Impact Test가 요구되며……NK (일본 선급)만 31 Joule.

AR : As rolled.

N : Normalized.
TM : Thermo Mechanical Controlled Processing.

CR : Control Rolled.
QT : Quenching and Tempering.

ARS : As rolled condition subject to special approval of the Classification Society.
CRS : Controlled rolled condition subject to special approval of the Classification Society.

Quenching — Operation which consists of cooling a ferrous products more rapidly then in still air.
The use of a term specifying the cooling condition is recommended,
for example air-blast quenching, water quenching, step quenching, etc.

Tempering — Heat treatment applied to a ferrous product, generally after quench hardening,
or another heat treatment to bring the properties to the required level, and consisting of
heating to specific temperature (＜Ac1 )and soaking one or more time, following by
cooling at an appropriate rate.
Tempering generally leads to a reduction in hardness but can, in certain cases,
cause an increase in hardness(refer to secondary hardening.
