ASTM B22,
ASTM A36 과 같이,

ASTM Code 에는 영어 알파벳과
숫자의 조합으로 나타납니다.

ASTM B22 와 같이,
영어 알파벳 “B” 가 나타나면

이는 Non-Ferrous Metal (비철계) 을 의미하고,
A36과 같이 “A” 영어 알파벳이 먼저 나타나면,

“A”는 Ferrous Metal (철계) 임을 나타냅니다
물론 예외는 있습니다.

Casting 제품 중 일부는
Non-Ferrous Metal 이면서 “A” 로 나타나는 경우도 있습니다.

ASTM B22 는
Non Ferrous Metal 의 청동 주물입니다.

청동은 구리 (Cu) 에
주석 (Sn) 을 합금 한 금속으로 Tin Bronze입니다.

ASTM B22 는 Standard Specification for Bronze Castings
for Bridges and Turntables에 관한 규정입니다.

조금 더 세부적으로는
Bronze casting for turntables, movable bridges and
bridge parts, and bronze castings suitable for use
in bridges and other structures for fixed and
expansion bearing in which motion is slow and intermittent.

ASTM B22 에는
UNS No 5가지가 나타나는데

C86300 — 고장력 황동계
C90500 , C91100 , C91300 — 청동계

C93700 — 연청동계.
고장력 황동 C86300 만 주석이 아닌

구리 (Cu) 를 주 성분으로,
아연 (Zn) 합금인 황동 (Brass)이고,

다른 것은 구리를 주 성분으로 주석을 합금하고
아연 (Zn), 납 (Pb) 를 합금한 청동계 Non-Ferrous Metal입니다 .

※ High Tensile Strength Steel (고장력강 : 高張力鋼 : 하이텐강)
Steel products manufactured for building, bridges, ships, vehicles,
automobiles, other structural use and pressure vessel use which
require weldability, notch toughness, workability, and
tensile strength of 490 N/㎟ min. in general.
In cold rolled steel sheets, those of 340 N/㎟ min. in tensile
strength are called high tensile strength steels.
건축, 교량, 선박, 차량, 기타의 구조물 및 압력용기용으로서,
보통 인장 강도 50kgf/㎟ (490N/㎟) 이상의 용접성, 노치 인성 및
가공성도 중시해서 제조 된 강재라고 합니다.
자동차용 냉연 강판에서는 인장 강도 35kgf/㎟ (340 N/㎟)
이상을 고장력강이라고 합니다.
