이 철강 용어는 국가 단위의 쇳물 생산량으로

통계 단위로 사용되는 용어입니다.
이에 대한 KS, JIS, ISO의

해석은 조금씩 다릅니다.
KS에서는 강괴 (연주 강편 또는 주편을 포함) 및

주강의 총칭으로 통계 단위로 사용된다.
JIS 에서는

Generic name of steel ingot (including continuous
cast steel slab or cast metal) and cast steel
Used for a statistic terminology.
In a production statistics,
crude steel is defined as follow.
Steel ingot for rolling
(by ingot mold and continuous cast)
+ steel ingot for forging + steel casting.

ISO 6929에서는 It is defined as products
of either type of liquid steel or steel ingot 라고

전로, 전기로 등의 제강로에서 정련한 강을 주형에 주입하여
응고 시킨 것으로서, 압연, 단조, 압출 등의 각 공정에 공급되는 소재.
연속 주조로 제조 되어, 분괴 공정을 생략하고 다음 공정에 공급되는 것은
연주 강편, 또는 주편이라고 하지만, 이것도 강괴에 포함 시킨다.
