SCM420H 강은
SCM420 기계 구조용 합금강재를

Jominy식 한쪽 끝 만을 Quenching 열처리 한 강재를 말합니다.
죠미니식은 환봉의 두개 끝면 중, 한쪽 끝에만

급냉 열처리로 냉각 시키고,
냉각된 끝부터 일정 거리마다 경도를 측정한,

그 측정 값이 미리 JIS와 KS에서 정해 놓은 경도 값 Range에
들어갔음을 확인되는 강재로

그 값을 그래프로 그리면
영어 알파벳 “H”형태로 나타나서

“H”강이라고 하고
강종의 뒤에 SCM440H와 같이

“H”를 붙여 “H”강이 아닌 것과 구분합니다.

Hardenability 에서 약자 “H”를 채택해 “H” steel 이라고도 해,
SCM420H 로 표기하며 SCM420 은, AISI4120, AISI4118 과 대응 가능합니다.

※ H Steel (H강 : 한쪽 끝 경화능 보증강재)

죠미니식 한쪽 끝 담금질 방법으로, 한쪽 끝단 담금질 열처리
된 곳부터 일정거리에서의 경도의 상한과 하한을 보증한 강재.

※ Hardness (경도 : 硬度)
Resistance to plastic deformation usually by indentation.
For steel users, it is a parameter to express different mechanical
properties of steel. It should be considered together with other
properties. For example, if two different steel grades have both
50 HRC hardness, it does not necessary mean both have the
same mechanical properties or wear resistance.

압인이나 긁힘에 의한 변형, 특히 영구적인 변형에 대한 재료의
내구성으로 강재의 기계적 성질의 지표입니다.
다른 강재가, 같은 경도 값을 가지더라도 내마모성, 기계적 성질이
다를 수 있으니, 경도와 함께 다른 기계적 성질도 참고해야 합니다.
