황 (Sulfur) 함량을 높여 절삭성을 높인 Steel입니다.

AISI 1117 과 SUM31 (Sulfur Machinability) 은
화학 원소에서 100% 일치하며

KS와 JIS에는 기계적 성질이 나타나지 않지만
AISI 에서는 기계적 성질을 명시하고 있습니다.

ASTM A576의 Grade 1117 과 AISI 1117은
그 내용에서 같습니다…UNS Designation G11170.

A576은 Standard Specification for Steel Bars,
Carbon, Hot-Wrought, Special Quality에 관한 규정입니다.

또한 AISI 1117은 ASTM A108 Standard Specification for Steel Bars,
Carbon and Alloy, Cold Finished 규정과도 관계가 있습니다.

※ Sulfur (S : 황)
In amounts of 0.06 to 0.3%, increases machinability.
It is not recommended for alloys used in hot forming.
It decreases weldability and ductility.
황 원소는 0.06~0.3% 수준의 합금으로, 절삭성을 높여 주지만
열간압연 강재에는 사용치 않으며, 용접성과 연성을 해치는 원소입니다.
