스테인레스로 내식성도 필요하지만

강도도 필요한 공구강용과 의료기기용으로 사용됩니다.
높은 탄소 함량으로 용접성은 오스테나이트계인

SUS304, SUS316 보다 좋지 않습니다.
오스테나이트계 SUS304, SUS316, 탄소량 0.08% maximum

마르텐자이트계 SUS420J2, 0.26~0.40% 탄소량으로,
얼마나 탄소량이 높은지 비교 가능합니다.

SUS420J2 Flat Bar 와 같은 마르텐자이트계 스테인레스는
QT 열처리에 의해, 높은 강도 경도가 가능하며

우수한 내마모성을 가집니다.
SUS420J2 는 주로 칼 (knife) 용도로 사용됩니다.

※ Wear resistance (내마모성 : Abrasion resistance)
A property of resistance against a phenomenon in which the mechanical
scratch, metallic abrasion, etc. of relatively moving metal surfaces are
integrated and the surfaces are worn, called wear.

상대 운동하는 금속 면의 기계적 글킴, 금속적 점착 등이 종합되어서 그 면이
소모되는 현상을 마모라고 하고, 이에 견디는 성질을 말합니다.

※ Tool steel (공구강, 工具鋼)
