SNCM 630 은, 기계 구조용 합금강재입니다.
Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum 합금으로

QT 열처리 해서 사용하는 경우가 많습니다.
SNCM 630 은, As rolled 상태에서는 Hardness HB 270 maximum 수준이지만

QT 열처리 상태에서는 302~352 수준의 경도입니다.
Nickel, Chromium, Molybdenum 원소는 모두

담금질성 (quenching) 향상 원소이면서
Nickel 은, 인성 (toughness)를 높이고

Chromium 은, 내마모, 내식, 내열성 향상과,
Tempering 취성 (brittleness)을 방지하는 효과를 얻습니다

Molybdenum 은, 공구강에서의 텅스텐이 내마모성을 향상 시키는 것과
비슷한 작용을 하는 원소이며, 대구경 환봉이나

두께가 두꺼운 철강 재료의 담금질성에서
질량 효과 (mass effect)를 감소 시킵니다.

SNCM630 의 합금 원소 조성에서, Ni : Cr 의 합금이 1 : 1 로,
다른 기계 구조용 합금강재에서 나타나지 않는 화학 조성입니다.

※ Brittleness (취성 : 脆性)
The property of little deformability, hard and brittle in general.
It is usually compared by the strength of impact or
the surface conditions of fracture.

일반적으로 단단하고 취성 (脆性)이며, 변형 등이 적은 성질.
보통, 충격 시험에서의 충격치의 대소 또는 파면의 상황에
따라 비교합니다.

인성 (Toughness)와 반대되는 개념으로 외부의 힘에 물체가
소성 변형 (Plastic deformation)을 거의 보이지 않고,
파괴되는 현상을 말합니다.

※ Toughness (인성 : 靭性)
The degree of difficulty in occurring impact breaking
because of the material’s toughness .

질기고 세며, 충격 파괴를 일으키기 어려운지, 어떤지의 정도.
질김성으로 충격에 대한 금속 재료의 저항성을 말합니다.

※ Mass effect (질량 효과 : 質量效果)
The degree of difference in depth of the quench hardened layer
according to the greatness of mass and sectional dimensions .
When a slight change of mass or sectional dimensions bring about
a great change in the depth of the hardened layer, the mass effect
is said to be great.
