ASTM A106B, A106 Grade B, 말을 줄여서
A106 Gr.B 라고도 표기합니다.

A106B PIpe 는 Seamless (SMLS) 전용 규격으로,
ERW 와 같은 용접 강관 규격이 아닙니다.

NPS 1/8 부터 NPS 48 (DN 6 ~DN 1200) 까지의
Out Diameter, 두께 (Schedule : SCH)를 가지는 Pipe입니다.

A106B SMLS Pipe 의 특징은, 고온 환경에 사용됩니다.
강도로만 보면 DIN-EN의 S235 수준이며

Old KS 규격의 STK400, New KS 규격 SGT 275
JIS의 SS400 보다, 낮은 강도 수준의 강재입니다.

하지만 실제 공급되는 Major Maker의 A106B
강도는 이를 넘는 수준의 강도를 가집니다.

수요가의 요구되는 따라, 높은 수준의 Spec 이 따르며
예를 들어, No weld repair, Fully killed steel, Fine grain steel,

NACE MR 0175, NACE MR 0103, ISO 15156-2 Hardness test,
Hardness range, EN 10204 Type 3.1 조건이 따릅니다.

Steel sufficiently deoxidized with ferrosilicon, aluminium, and so on.

페로실리콘이나, 알루미늄 등으로 충분히 탈산한 강철로,
용탕이 응고 진행 중에 일산화 탄소를 발생 시키지 않고,
조용히 응고해, 비교적 균질 하고, 편석이 적고, 기포도 없지만
응고된 강괴 윗부분 중심으로부터, 수축공이 생겨, 회수율이
좋지 못한 단점이 있고, 결정 입도, 탈산제에 따라 세부적으로 더 분류됩니다.
