SCM440 은 크롬, 몰리브덴 합금강재입니다.
저합금 강재로, 합금량이 높지는 않습니다.

저합금 Chromium-Molybdenum 합금이지만
QT 열처리시, 높은 강도와 경도가 가능한 재질입니다.

SCM440 은, Plate, Round-Bar 로, 주로 사용되고
Pipe, SMLS, Ring, Sleeve, Bushing 형태로도 사용됩니다.

합금 강관으로 SCM440TK 으로 표기되며
탄소 기계 구조용 강관 STKM 17A, STKM 17C 보다

상위 재질 (upper grade)입니다.
시장에 공급은 QT 열처리 없이 공급되고

수요가의 사정에 따라 열처리 해서, 사용합니다.
Oil Quenching 830~880℃, Tempering 530~630℃ 급냉시

Yield Strength (인장강도) : 835 MPa 이상
Tensile strength (항복강도) : 980 MPa 이상의 강도입니다.

내마모성이 향상되고, 담금질성이 좋습니다.
