St52-3 강재는 탄소 강재입니다.
Steel 52×9.81 = 인장강도 510 MPa minimum 의미합니다.

독일, 영국, 프랑스, 스페인, 노르웨이 등의
유럽 국가들이 EN 이라는 기구로 통합되기 전

독일의 DIN 17100 규격의 여러가지 재질 중 하나 입니다.
St37-2, St37-3, St44-2, St44-3,

St52-3 은, 탄소강 구조용 (structural) 강재 입니다.
St52-3 강재는 개정 후 S355J0 또는 S355J2G3 로 변한 후

2004년 다시 EN10025-2 규정의
S355J0 로 변경 됐습니다.

이 재질을 지금의 KS와 비교하면
SM355B 수준입니다.

JIS와 비교하면 SM490YB 이상
수준의 강재와 비교해야 안전합니다.

St52-3 강재의 숫자 기준이 인장강도 기준이고
S355J0 강재의 숫자 “355”는 항복강도 기준이라는 차이가 있습니다.

건축, 교량, 선박, 차량, 기타의 구조물용으로서 강도 및 필요에 따라
용접성을 중시하여 제조 된 강재를 말합니다.

※ Steel (강 : 鋼)
Iron, malleable in at least one range of temperature below its melting
point without special heat treatment, substantially free from slag, and
containing carbon more than about 0.05% and less than about 2.00%.
Other alloying elements may be present in significant quantities, but
all steels contain at least small amounts of manganese and silicon,
and usually as undesirable constituents, also sulfur and phosphorus.
