AMS 5596 금속의 특징은 니켈 초합금 (superalloy)입니다.
704℃ (1300℉) 수준까지, creep and stress rupture test 와

982℃ (1800℉) 까지, 내산화성 (oxidation resistance) 금속입니다.
AMS 5596 은 Plate, Sheet, Strip, Foil 제품 규정으로

VIM (vacuum induction melted : 진공 유도 용해) 또는
Consumable Electrode (소모 전극) 방법으로 생산해

금속의 청정성과 편석을 제거한 nickel based superalloy 입니다.
1000MPa 를 넘는 높은 항복강도, 우수한 용접성

매우 좋은 성형성 (good formability)이고
용접 후 Strain aged cracking 염려가 적은 특징입니다.

AMS 5596 공급은 열처리 조건이 Solution heat treated 상태이고
Precipitation heat treated 되어야 1000MPa 이상의 강도입니다.

AMS 5596 금속의 높은 Nickel 합금량 (50.0~55.0%)은
저온 환경 (cryogenic temperature) 에 사용하는 특성을 부여합니다.

AMS 5596 금속은 non-magnetic(비자성)이고, 박판은 스프링강으로
사용되고, 저온용 부식성 재료의 탱크와 항공기의 터빈용 입니다.

※ Solution treatment (용체화 처리, 고용화 처리)
Heat treatment intended for dissolve previously precipitated
constituents and retain them in solution

이전에 이미 석출 된 성분들을 재 용해 되어 완전히 분해되
조직 내에 고용되어 다시 석출 되지 않게 하는 열처리.

※ Solution annealing (용체화 어닐링 (풀림)
Heat treatment applied to austenitic steels, consisting of heating to a
high temperature followed by cooling sufficiently rapidly to preserve
a homogeneous austenitic structure on return to ambient temperature.

오스테나이트 강을 고온으로 가열한 후, 빠르게 냉각함으로서
상온에서도 오스테나이트 조직이 되도록 하는 열처리를 말합니다.

※ Precipitation Hardening Steels (석출 경화 : 析出硬化)
Steels with the property of being hardened by a method wherein
a small amount of elements such as aluminium, copper, etc.
is added and compounds of those elements or the like are
precipitated by heat treatment

알루미늄, 구리 등의 원소를 소량 첨가하고, 열처리에 의해
이들 원소 화합물을 석출 시켜 경화 하는 성질을 지니게한 강.
