1.4460 은 Duplex Stainless (이상 : 二相 : 강재 조직의 상이 2개) 입니다.
Austenite 와 Ferritic 2개 조직 상이 있는 스테인레스로

Austenitic 과 Ferritic 2개 조직의 장점을 가지는 강재입니다.
1.4460 은 높은 크롬 합금 — 25% min 특징인 강재입니다.

450 MPa minimum 에 이르는 높은 항복강도와 함께
염화물 (chloride-bearing) 환경에서의 좋은 내식성,

공식과 틈 부식, 응력 부식 균열에 저항성 특징이면서
가공성 향상 (improved machinability) 재질입니다.

1.4460 은, piston, propeller, bolt and nut, shafts 용도로,
화학 산업, 석유 관련 산업, water sports 산업에 사용됩니다.

AISI 329, UNS S32900, ASTM Type 329
JIS SUS329J1 재질과 비교 가능합니다.

※ Stress corrosion (응력 부식 : 應力腐蝕)
부식과 인장 응력 또는 잔류 응력, 그리고 부식성 환경으로 인해
금속의 변형과 함께 발생하는 부식을 말합니다.
금속 표면에 거의 부식이 없지만 미세한 균열들이 금속
내부로 퍼짐에 따라 (전파에)따라, 설계 강도보다 훨씬 낮은
응력에서도 금속 파괴가 일어날 수 있습니다
