※ Carbon Steel
Steel made by alloy iron and carbon of which carbon content
is generally within a range from 0.02% to 2%.
Further, a small amount of silicon, manganese, phosphorus,
sulfur, etc. are usually contained.
For convenience, carbon steel may be sometimes classified as
according to the carbon content or hardness (including strength).
Classification by carbon content : Low carbon steels,
medium carbon steels and high carbon steels.
Classification by hardness : Extra mild steel,
mild steel and hard steel.

elements other than carbon, in order to impart special properties
to the steel so that it can be used for specific purposes.

principally according to their structure at ordinary temperature.

※ Free Cutting Steel
Steels to which free cutting property is improved by
individual or combined addition of phosphorus,
sulfur, lead, selenium, tellurium, calcium, etc.
