A387 Standard specification coves chromium-molybdenum
alloy steel plates intended primarily for welded boilers and
pressure vessels designed for elevated temperature service.

A387-91는 A387-9, 두 가지 강종은 같은
Nominal Content Cr 9%,

Mo 1% 특징을 가지는 Plate에 대한 규격으로
A387 다른 Grade는 Class 1, Class 2로 나뉘지만

A387-91 은 Class 2, 한 가지만 있는 강종입니다.
A387-91-2의 열처리 방법을 ASTM은 특별히 별도 지정하고 있고

Normalizing and Tempering or
Accelerated cooling from the austenitizing temperature by air blasting
or liquid quenching, following by tempering 두 가지 방법 중 하나의 채택입니다.

Heat treatment consisting of austenitizing followed by air cooling.
The purposes of this operation are to eliminate the influence of pre-working,
to render the crystal grains finder and to improve their mechanical properties.

오스테나이트화 후 공기 중에서 냉각하는 열처리로
노말라이징 열처리의 목적은 강재 생산 앞 공정에서 받은 응력 (Stress)를 풀어주고
결정립을 미세화, 표준화 시켜, 기계적 성질을 향상 시키는 열처리를 말합니다.

※ Quenching(담금질)
Operation which consists of cooling a ferrous products
more rapidly then in still air.
The use of a term specifying the cooling condition is recommended,
for example air-blast quenching, water quenching, step quenching, etc.

철강재를 공기 중에 두는 것보다 더 빠르게 냉각하는 작업으로
퀜칭이란 용어를 사용하며, 공냉 (송풍 퀜칭), 수냉, 단계 퀜칭처럼
냉각 조건을 붙여 사용하는 것이 바람직하다.
