QK5 는, 탄소 공구강으로 Sanyo Special Steel 의, Steel Symbol 입니다.
QK5 는, JIS G 4401 SK5 재질과 비교되며, SK5는 SK85로 개정 됐습니다.

하지만 실 사용 현장에서는 QK5, SK5, SK85 재질이 혼용 사용되는 강종 기호입니다.
QK5 는 탄소 공구강으로 탄소량만으로 강재의 경도를 높이는 수단으로 사용합니다.

탄소량만으로 경도를 높이다 보니, 경도 값이 너무 높아질 수 있어
Annealing (풀림) 열처리 해서 사용합니다.

QK5 는 Quenching and Tempering 열처리 해서 사용하기도 합니다.
760~820℃ water cooling, 150~200 air cooling 하면, 59 HRC 이상의 경도입니다.

Plate, Sheet, Strip, Round-Bar 제품 형태이며, Hot rolled, Hot forging,
Cold rolled, As rolled 이고, 경우에 따라 Annealed 열처리 공급 조건입니다.

QK5 재질은 stamp, die for press, spiral spring, band saw, jig and tool,
cutting tool, circular saw, gauge and needle 용도로 사용됩니다.

※ Carbon Tool Steel (탄소 공구강 : 炭素工具鋼)
Tool steels containing carbon of 0.55% to 1.50%, but special alloy
elements are not added.
0.6~1.5%의 탄소를 함유하고, 특별하게 합금 원소를 첨가하지
않은 공구강을 말합니다.

※ Tool steel (공구강, 工具鋼)
A generic term of steels used various jigs and tools the cutting and
plastic working for metal or nonmetal.
There are a large number of types, because they have many uses and
various required performance. They are, as a rule, classified into carbon
tool steels, alloy tool steels, and high speed tool steels by chemical
composition and performance.

금속, 또는 비금속의 절삭, 소성 가공용 등의 각종 지그 (jig), 공구로 쓰이는
강철의 총칭. 용도가 넓고 요구 성능이 다방면에 걸치므로 종류가 많습니다.
일반적으로는 화학 성분 및 성능을 고려하여 탄소 공구강, 합금 공구강,
고속도 공구강으로 분류됩니다.

※ As rolled (압연한 그대로)
The condition the material is in when in comes off the sizing rollers.
Cooling as it’s being processed. As rolled is more prone to hard spots
and higher as shipped hardness
