SS400 Bar는, JIS G 3101, 일반 구조용 강재 규격입니다.
KS 개정 전, SS400 강종이 있었지만, 개정 후 폐지되고

SS275 재질로 변경 되어, JIS SS400 과 KS SS275 는 부분적으로 차이가 있습니다.
일반 구조용 강재는 건축물, 차량, 교량, 선박 등 구조물 (Structure) 용도로

사용되며, t≤16 강재 두께 기준, 항복강도 245 MPa minimum
인장강도 400 MPa minimum 수준의 강도입니다.

강판, 형강, 환봉 형태의 제품이며, 탄소강재이지만, JIS 규정에는
탄소량의 규정도 없고, Silicon, Manganese 규정도 없는 재질이지만

실제 공급되는 제품에는 강 (steel) 의, 기본 5원소 (C, Si, Mn, P, S)는 나타납니다.
SS400 재질은 강의 취성 (brittleness)원소인 인 (P)과 황 (S)만 제한 값이 있는 강재입니다.

SS400 Round-Bar (환봉) 의 Diameter 가 작은 경우 — D10 mm 이하 수준
인발 제품인 마환봉 (cold finished) 제품이거나, Rod 제품입니다.

The term “Cold Finish” is an umbrella definition for any
material that has had some sort of surface treatment
There are round, square, hexagon, flat and so on according
to the cross-sectional shape.

강재를 냉간 인발, 연삭, 절삭, 센터리스 또는 이들의 조합으로
마무리한 봉강으로, 봉강 뿐 아니라, 원형, 정방형,
육각형, 장방형 및 이형 등이 있습니다.

※ Red shortness (적열 취성 : 赤熱脆性, 고온 취성)
The brittleness property generated within a temperature range of hot working
주로 황이 함량이 높은 경우, 열간 작업 공정 중 강이 깨지는 현상을 말합니다.

※ Cold shortness (低溫脆性, 저온취성)
A property in which the impact value of steel rapidly decreases and the steel
becomes brittle around room temperature or lower.

상온에서 또는 상온보다도, 낮은 온도에서 충격 값이 급속히 저하되며,
깨지는 현상을 말합니다.
