Vespel® 은 듀폰 상표 제품군 중 고성능 폴리이미드 플라스틱 제품으로
극저온 -196℃ 부터 480 ℃ 수준까지 사용하는 분말 소결 재료입니다.

Metal 보다 훨씬 가벼운 비중, Ceramic 대비 우수한 기계 가공성과 내충격성입니다.
열에 의한 소성 변화가 있는 Polymers (PEEK, PAI) 와는 다르게

유리전이온도 (유리질 재료가 고체에서 액체 상태로 변하는 온도)가 없는 차이가 있으며,
Vespel® 플라스틱은 Metals, Ceramics, Polymers 재료, 각각에는 없는 특성이 있습니다.

Vespel® 물성 특징으로는, 우수한 내크리프성, 내화학성, 내충격성
전기절연성,고압 및 유속에서 낮은 마찰계수와 내마모성, 진공 상태에서

낮은 가스 배출, 높은 복사 저항, 난연성 플라스틱 소재로
우주 항공, 반도체, 운송 장비, 자동차 부품, 엔지니어링 용도로 쓰입니다.

※ Plastic deformation : Plastic strain : 소성 변형 (塑性變形)
탄성 (elasticity)은 재료가 어떤 응력하에서 발생한 연신이
응력을 제거하면 원상태나 원래의 모습으로 돌아오는 것을 말하고
반대 개념인 소성은 외부 힘 (지진 및 철강재의 변형 가공)에 의해
탄성 한계를 지나면 외력이 사라져도, 원래의 모습으로 돌아오지 않고
영구적으로 변형이 생기는 것을 말하며, 영구 변형이라고도 합니다.

※ Creep resistance (내크리프성)
a property of resistance against a phenomenon in which
strain in the lapse of time under a fixed stress at a high
temperature called high temperature creep.

고온의 일정한 압력을 받는 환경에서 물질의 변형이
시간이 경과함에 따라 증가하는 현상을 고온 크립이라고 하고
이에 견디는 성질을 말합니다.
