저온용 합금강재와 저온용 재료 (알루미늄 합금)으로 저온용이고
사용하는 ASTM 강재와 ABS (미국 선급 협회) 재료로

선박의 Hull Construction 용도로 쓰이는 재료를 아래에 나타냈습니다.
합금강재인 경우 Nickel 합금 하며, 니켈은 저온 인성을 현저히 높이는 역할을 합니다.

아래 표에서 Nickel 합금량이 늘수록 저온 인성이 향상됨을 알 수 있고
CVN Test 결과 값을 검사 증명서에 나타내야 됩니다.

하지만 오스테나이트 스텐레스와 알루미늄 재료인 경우는
지정이 없는 한, 검사 증명서에 CVN 값을 나타내지 않으며

-254℃ (-425℉) 이하인 경우에만 협의에 의해 나타냅니다.
그만큼 오스테나이트 스텐레스와 알루미늄의 저온 인성 특성이 뛰어납니다.

아래에 나타나는 저온용 (Low Temperature Steel) ASTM 강재 외에도 LT-FH32, LT-FH36,
VL 4-4L, VH-O60, DIN-EN 재질도 -60℃ CVN Impact Test 조건 금속들이 있습니다.

※ Toughness (인성 : 靭性)
The degree of difficulty in occurring impact breaking
because of the material’s toughness.
질기고 세며, 충격 파괴를 일으키기 어려운지, 어떤지의 정도.

※ Steels for low temperature service (저온용강재, 低溫用鋼材 : LTS 강재)
Steel products manufactured for the pressure vessels and structures
used at a low temperature which required toughness at a low
temperature and weldability.
There are carbon steel, low alloy steel, 2.5% nickel steel, 3.5 nickel steel
9% nickel steel, austenitic stainless steel, etc. according to use temperature.

저온하에서 쓰이는 용기, 설비 및 구조재로서 저온 인성 및 용접성을 중시해서
제조 된 강재로, 사용 온도에 따라 탄소강, 저합금강, 2.5% 니켈강, 3.5% 니켈강
9% 니켈강, 오스테나이트 스테인레스강이 있습니다.

※ Charpy V-Notch Impact Test (CVN : 샤르피 충격시험)
Test to measure the absorbed energy, impact value, percentage
of brittle/ductile fracture, transition temperature, etc. with using
charpy impact testing machine in which test piece is supported by
two supports distant by 40 mm so that the notch meets the middle
between supports and is broken by striking with one blow of
pendulum to the face opposite the notch.

샤르피 충격 시험기를 사용하여 시험편을 40 mm 간격이 있는 두 개의
지지대에 올려 놓고, 또한 노치부를 지지대 사이의 중앙에 놓고
노치부의 뒷면을 해머로 1회만 충격을 주어, 시험편을 파단 시키고
흡수 에너지, 충격치, 파면율, 천이온도 등을 측정하는 시험.
