AMS 6758 규정은 봉과 단조제품에 대한 항공기강 규격입니다.
Chromium, Molybdenum 합금 Alloy 4130 으로, Aircraft Quality 입니다.

AMS 6758 규정 강재는 담금질 해도 중간 정도급의 Hardness 와
좋은 제작 가공성, 용접성으로, 비교적 많이 쓰이는 항공기용 합금강재입니다.

용해 과정에서 진공으로 가스를 제거해, 강재 내부의 청정하게 만들고 이를
보증하기 위한 AMS 2301, 자분 탐상 시험 (magnetic particle inspection) 조건입니다.

AMS 6758 재질을 한쪽 끝 경화 시키는 경우 Diameter 1/2″인 경우 HRC 28 수준이고
QT 열처리 하는 경우 항복강도 690 MPa minimum 수준의 강재입니다.

※ Aircraft Quality Steel (AQ Steel : 항공기강 : 航空機鋼)
AQ Steel is the most commonly specified quality for general aerospace applications.
It is defined in SAE specification AMS 2301, which outlines the procedure for determining
compliance with cleanliness requirements by the magnetic particle inspection method.

※ Magnetic Particle Testing (자분 탐상 시험)
철강 재료 등 강자성체를 자화 시켜, 결함부에 생긴 자극 (磁極)에 의한 자분의
부착을 이용하여 결함을 검출하는 비파괴 시험을 말합니다.

Nondestructive test method in which ferromagnetic material such as iron
and steel is magnetized and sticking of magnetic particles to magnetic poles
generated in defect portions in utilized to detect defects.
