AMS 5659 규정은 진공 용해 방법으로 생산되고, 석출경화 열처리로
높은 강도와 기계적 성질을 가지는 내식성 스텐레스 재질입니다.

AMS 5659 제품의 형태는 봉, 와이어, 단조품, 링, 압출재이고
316℃ 수준까지 높은 강도와 연성을 유지하는 재료입니다.

AMS 5659 규정은 ASTM A564 — 열간, 냉간 석출 경화 스텐레스
봉과 형강 규정과 대응 가능한 재질로, 열처리에 의해 강도를

높이는 Type (condition) 이 있고, Condition Annealed 조건으로,
추가적인 열처리를 해서 사용하는 조건도 있습니다.

Cond. Annealed 인 경우는 기계적 성질은 나타나지 않고
Brinell Hardness 또는 Rockwell Hardness 만 나타납니다.

AMS 5659 Cond. Annealed 는, 15-5PH 강재로도 불리며 우주 항공의
구조용 (structural), 밸브, 기어, 샤프트. 원자력 원자로 부품으로 사용됩니다.

AMS 5659 규정 재료는 ASTM A564 Type XM-12, UNS S15500, ASME SA564
Grade XM-12와 대응되며, AMS-STD-2154 UT Test 가 있을 수 있습니다.

※ VIM-VAR : Double Vac Melt process
Vacuum induction melt plus vacuum arc remelted
VIM (진공 유도 용해)은 용해 과정으로 불순물을 제거하고, 2차 정련 (精鍊)인
VAR (진공 아크 용해) 정련 (refining)으로, 개재물과 금속 내 기포, 가스를 제거합니다.
VIM-VAR 생산 방법이 적용되는 분야는 니켈 합금, 티타늄 합금 생산에 적용되며
우주 항공, 의료기기, 청정강 생산 기술입니다.

※ ESR (Electro Slag Remelting : 일렉트로 슬래그 재용해)
After casting, the ingot is remelted from bottom to top by electric energy,
During this process, the melted steel falls through slags, which collects
almost all of the non-metallic inclusions
A new ingot solidifies from bottom to top and there is very little segregation
from case to core.
The fatigue resistance and in particular the toughness increase.
Even through ESR increases material costs, it can still be economical due to
the increase in the tool’s performance.
Metal injection molds and extrusion dies often need ESR steel grades.
