AMS 4914 Spec 은, 높은 비강도 (strength to weight ratio)와
288℃ 수준까지, 성질의 안정성을 가지고, 0.125″(3.175 mmt)

두께까지의 Sheet, Strip 형상의 제품으로 고용화 (용체화) 열처리 후
석출 경화 열처리 가능한 티타늄 합금에 대한 규정입니다.

열처리 후 인장강도 1000 MPa minimum, 비중 4.17 g/㎤으로
일반 탄소강재 인장강도 400 MPa minimum, 비중 7.85 g/㎤ 와 차이가 확연합니다.

AMS 4914 재질은 냉간 성형성이 좋고, 우수한 용접성,
극히 우수한 내산화성 (resistance to high oxidation) 성질입니다.

이와 같은 특성과 AMS 4914 의 높은 비강도로 aircraft ducting, pressure
vessels and other fabricated sheet metal structure 용도로 사용됩니다.

※ Solution Heat Treatment (용체화 처리 : 溶體化處理)
A heat treatment in which the alloy to be heat-treated is heated at a proper
temperature not low than solution limit temperature and made to the state
of super-saturated by rapid cooling after the alloy components have been
sufficiently smelted

합금을 적절한 온도로 가열하고 급랭한 후 과포화 상태로 존재하던
가용 성분을 고용체에 고용될 수 있도록 충분히 유지하는 공정을 말합니다.

※ 석출열처리 (인공 시효) : Precipitation Heat Treatment : 析出熱處理 (人工時效)
A heat treatment in which the fine secondary phase is precipitated from
the supersaturated solid solution by heating at room temperature or higher

과포화 고용체로부터 가용 성분의 석출에 의한 강화를 위하여
상온 이상에서 합금을 열처리 하는 것을 말합니다.
