AW-7021 금속은 고강도 알루미늄 판 재질입니다.
항복강도 350 MPa minimum으로 탄소강재 EN S355 급이고

JIS SM490YA 이상, A572-50 수준과 비교 가능한 알루미늄 판재입니다.
AW-7021 판재는 AlZn5.5Mg1.5 화학 조성을 가지는 7000 계열 합금입니다.

7000 계열 알루미늄 합금은 높은 기계적 성질이 특징인 재질로
Chromium, Zirconium 합금으로, 결정립 미세화 효과와 SCC 저항성을 높였습니다.

AW-7021 합금은 높은 치수 안정성, 낮은 내부 응력 (low internal stress),
좋은 용접성과 내식성 재료로 Injection molds, tools, molds, patterns,

base plates, table tops and mounting plates, machinery
and equipment 용도로 쓰이는 재질입니다.

※ Stress corrosion (응력 부식 : 應力腐蝕)
부식과 인장 응력 또는 잔류 응력, 그리고 부식성 환경으로 인해
금속의 변형과 함께 발생하는 부식을 말합니다.
금속 표면에 거의 부식이 없지만 미세한 균열들이 금속
내부로 퍼짐에 따라 (전파에)따라, 설계 강도보다 훨씬 낮은
응력에서도 금속 파괴가 일어날 수 있습니다.
