동개발협회 분류 기준을 따르며, C10100~C79900 까지는 Wrought

(전신재 : 展伸材), C80100~C99750 까지는 주조재 (casting)으로 구분합니다.
Copper, Copper Alloy 특징은 열전도도, 전기전도도 좋으며, 부식에 대한

높은 저항성, 좋은 성형성, 가공성, 연성 (ductility), 그리고 Color 로 산업/건축용으로
쓰이며, 열처리, 가공 경화, 화학 조성 등으로 기계적 성질을 조정할 수 있는 금속입니다.

단독 또는 복합적인 압출, 단조, 열간 압연, 냉간 압연 또는 인발과 같은
냉간 소성 변형에 의해 얻어지는 제품에 대한 일반적인 용어로
전신재의 예로는 봉 (Rod), 바 (Bar), 선 (Wire), 관 (Tube), 형재 (Profile),
판 (Sheet), 조 (Strip), 단조물 (Forging)이 있습니다.
금속의 전연성 (展延性 : Ductility)을 이용한 금속 가공품을 말합니다.
이와는 반대로 비가공 제품 (Unwrought products(refinery shapes)는
정련이나 주조, 용해 공정에서 얻어지는 가공되지 않은 제품을 말합니다.

※ Ductility (연성 : 延性)
The property of metals that enables them to be mechanically deformed
when cold, without fracture. In steel, ductility is usually measured by
elongation and reduction area is determined in a tensile test.

금속에 인장력을 줘 소성 변형을 일으켰을 때, 끊어짐이 없이 선 (line)상으로
늘릴 수 있는 성질을 연성이라고 하고, 연성은 인장 시험에서
연신율 (Elongation), 단면 수축율 (Reduction area; RA)로 측정합니다.
물질이 파괴되지 않고 유연하게 변할 수 있는 능력입니다.
