AMS 6490 규정 강재는 4.0Cr-4.2Mi-1.0V, 탄소량 0.77~0.88 의
몰리브덴계 합금강으로, 베어링 용도로 사용되는 프리미엄 항공기강으로

소모 전극 진공 용해 방법으로 생산되는 봉강과 단조강, 튜브 제품 규정입니다.
AMS 6490 재질은 QT 열처리 후 경도 HRC 61 minimum 수준으로,

중간 수준의 고속도 용도강재이고, AMS 6490 재료는, CEVM (소모 전극 진공 용해)는
강재 내부의 가스, 불순물을 제거해, 강의 청정성을 높이는 제조 방법입니다.

AMS 6490 재질이 한번의 진공 용해 방법이지만
AMS 6491 재질은 두 번 진공 용해 방법으로 VIM-VAR 규정 재료입니다.

Premium Aircraft Quality Steel is the ultimate quality that can currently be obtained in
production quantities and is usually applied to the most critical parts and components.
Steel conformed to this quality level is produced by the consumable electrode vacuum
arc remelting technique. AMS 2300 defines this quality and outlines testing requirements
Steels described herein which meet this quality are designated by the letters VAR
(Vacuum Arc Remelts) or CEVM (Consumable Electrode Vacuum Melted)

VIM-VAR 생산 방법이 적용되는 분야는 니켈 합금, 티타늄 합금 생산에 적용되며
우주 항공, 의료기기, 청정강 생산 기술입니다.

※ Molybdenum (몰리브덴 : Mo)
Its use as an alloying element in steel increase hardenability and
in low alloy steels reduces the risk of temper brittleness.
It is used in stainless steels as well as high speed steels.
It is increases the high-temperature tensile and creep strengths in steel.

몰리브덴은 경화능 향상 원소이고, 저합금강에서는 템퍼 취성을 감소 시키는
역할을 합니다. 몰리브덴은 고속도강부터 스텐레스까지 합금 되는 원소입니다.
몰리브덴은 강에서 고온 강도와 크리프 강도를 높여주는 역할을 합니다.
