SUP12 재질은 Spring Steel 로, 실리콘-크롬 합금입니다.
고용 강화 효과를 높여주는 Silicon, QT 열처리 경화성 향상원소인

Chromium 을 합금한 JIS 스프링으로, EN 54SiCr6 재질과 대응됩니다.
SUP12 재질 스프링강은 높은 응력이 작용하는 자동차의 suspension,

Coiled 스프링 용도로 사용하며, Quenching 830~860 ℃ 유냉,
Tempering 510~570℃ 하면, 1080 MPa minimum 항복강도 강재입니다.

※ Silicon (Si : 규소)
Increases strength as a solid solution strengthening element.
Promotes spheroidization of cementite and graphitization.
Improves impact values in the low temperature temper-brittlement range below
300℃ in the same manner of Cr, Mo, V.

규소는 고용 강화 효과로 강도를 높여주는 원소입니다.
흑연화와 세멘타이트의 구상화를 촉진하며, 300℃ 이하에서는 Cr, Mo, V 와 비슷한
저온 템퍼 취성의 충격 저항성 값을 높여주는 역할을 합니다.

※ Chromium (Cr : 크롬)
When used as an alloying element, chromium increases the hardenability of steel
and in association with high carbon gives resistance to wear and abrasion.
Chromium has an important effect on corrosion resistance and is present
in stainless steels in amounts of 11.5-20%.

크롬은 강에 합금 원소로 사용되며, 크롬량이 증가하면 경화성이 높아지고
고탄소강에는 내마모 성질을 부여합니다. 크롬은 스텐레스강에서 가장
중요한 원소로 11.5~20% 수준 합금 되, 내식 성질을 부여합니다.
