ASTM A895 규정은 스텐레스 쾌삭강 재질, Sheet, Plate, Strip 만 있는
규정으로 A895-303 재질은 황 (sulfur)을 쾌삭 원소로 높게 합금한 재질입니다.

Steel (강 : 鋼)에서 황은 강재에 좋지 않은 영향을 주는 비금속
개재물로 취급해, 황 (sulfur)를 제거해 사용합니다.

KS SS275, JIS SS400 모두 황 함량 0.050% maximum
ASTM A36 형강– 0.050 maximum, EN S275JR — 0.035 maximum 으로

쾌삭강이 아닌 강재에서는 0.050% 를 넘지 않지만 A895-303 – 0.15% minimum.
A895-303 재질 쾌삭강재는 절단과 machining 가공이 쉬우면서

탄소강과는 다른, 내식성이 요구되는 경우, 채택되어 사용됩니다.
A895-303 재질은 Annealed 상태에서 오스테나이트계로 비자성입니다.

※ Sulfur (S)
Generally regarded as an impurity in steel as it can have detrimental
effects on strength, ductility, and weldability as well as producing
hot and cold shortness.
Its content in most steels is limited to a maximum of 0.050%.
Sulphur is beneficial to machining and is added to free-cutting steels
in amounts up to 0.35% with the manganese content increased
to overcome any detrimental effects.

황은 강에 대부분 나쁜 영향을 주는 원소로 적열 취성이나 청열 취성과
용접성, 연성, 강도에 부정적인 영향을 주는 원소로 최대 0.050% 로 제한합니다.
황을 최대 0.35% 수준까지 합금 하면 강에 쾌삭성을 부여하고
황의 부정적 영향을 상쇄 시키려고 망간 함량을 높입니다.

※ Free cutting steels (쾌삭강 : 快削鋼) — EN
Steels with a minimum sulfur content of at least, in general, 0.1%
are regarded as free-cutting steels.
적어도 황이 0.1% 이상인 강재를 쾌삭강이라고 합니다.
