몰리브덴 합금으로, 높은 강도와 함께, 높은 내 (耐) 해수성, 내식 강재입니다.
S31803 스텐은 Pitting, Crevice 부식 저항성과 응력 부식 저항성 특징입니다.

S31803 합금은 최소 항복강도 450 MPa 로, 오스테나이트 스텐레스
304, 316 대비 2배 이상의 높은 강도와 더 높은 PREN 강재입니다.

이와 같은 UNS S31803 특징으로, 해수와 관련된 설비, 화학 공업, 화력 발전소,
제철소의 탈황 (脫黃 : desulfurization)설비, 고응력 내식 장비 용도로 쓰입니다.

S81803 이상 스텐레스 강재는 S31803 (F51)/S32205 (F60) Dual Spec 으로
제조 되기도 하고, EN 1.4462, X2CrNiMoN22-5-3 재질과 대응됩니다.

※ Pitting corrosion (공식 : 孔蝕)
Localized corrosion resulting in pits, i.e
cavities extending from the surface into the metal
금속 표면으로부터 내부까지 확장된 구멍을 유발 시키는 국부 부식.

※ Crevice corrosion (틈새 부식)
금속 표면과 다른 금속 (금속 또는 비금속) 사이에 형성된 작은 구멍이나
틈의 주변 가까이 또는 내부에서 발생하는 국부 부식.

Local corrosion in connecting with crevices occurring in or immediately
adjacent to the crevice area, which has developed between the metal
surface and another surface (metal or nonmetal)

※ Stress corrosion (응력 부식 : 應力腐蝕)
부식과 인장 응력 또는 잔류 응력, 그리고 부식성 환경으로 인해
금속의 변형과 함께 발생하는 부식을 말합니다.
금속 표면에 거의 부식이 없지만 미세한 균열들이 금속
내부로 퍼짐에 따라 (전파에 따라), 설계 강도보다 훨씬 낮은
응력에서도 금속 파괴가 일어날 수 있습니다.
