5083 알루미늄은 비열처리 합금 중 가장 높은 강도의 재료로
알루미늄에 마그네슘을 합금한 Al-Mg 5000 series 합금입니다.

5083 Aluminum 은 높은 내식성과 용접성이 좋은 재료이고 해수에 대한
내식성과 저온성이 좋아, 압력용기, 해양 구조물, LPG 탱크 — 액화 온도 약 -42℃

용도로 쓰이며, 이와 같은 저온에서는 저온 특성이 중요한 요소입니다.
예를 들어 5083-O 재질의 경우 -196℃ 에서 인장강도 405 MPa minimum,

상온 25℃ 에서 인장강도 290 MPa 와 비교하면 저온 성능을 알 수 있습니다.
KS D 6701 알루미늄 판과 strips and coiled sheets 5083 재질 규정에는

질별 (Temper) 5083-H112, O, H22, H32, H321, 5 종류가 있고, KS 에서 5083
재질을 A5083, 유럽에서는 AW5083, 미국에서는 AA5083 으로 표기합니다.

※ Temper
The term “temper” means the division of mechanical properties
individually formed by various processing and heat treatment
conditions in the manufacturing process.
금속 또는 합금에 요구되는 특정한 물리적 성질 또는 기계적 성질을
부여하는 공정(예를 들면 기계적 처리 및 열처리) 후의 상태를 말합니다.

※ Temper H
Strain Hardened (Wrought Products Only) – Applied to products that have their
strength increased by strain hardening with or without supplementary thermal
treatments to produce partial softening. Two or more digits always follow the H.
가공 경화 한 것 – 적절하게 부드럽게 하기 위한 열처리의 유무에 상관없이
가공 경화에 의해 강도를 증가한 것을 말합니다.

※ Brittleness (취성 : 脆性 : 메짐성)
The property of little deformability, hard and brittle in general,
It is usually compared by the strength of impact or the surface conditions of fracture.

20℃＜ 0℃＜ -20℃＜-40℃＜-60℃＜-100℃ 저온으로 가면 갈수록
Brittleness (취성 : 깨지는 성질)는 급격히 증가하며, 구조체의 안전을 확보해야 할
금속 구조체가, 온도가 내려가는 환경에서 버티는 성질이 중요합니다.

※ Strip
a rolled product of rectangular cross-section supplied in coils usually with slit edges.
단면이 직사각형의 압연재. 통상 슬릿 절단되어진 코일 모양의 판을 말합니다.
