JIS G 3201 SF590A 강재는 고강도 탄소강 단조강재로
Normalizing and Tempering (+NT) 열처리 해서 사용합니다.

경우에 따라 불림 열처리 (normalizing), 또는 풀림 열처리 (annealing) 합니다.
JIS G 3201 SF590B 재질과 의 가장 큰 다른 점은 SF590B 는 충격 시험이 있고

JIS G 3201 SF590A 재질은 충격 시험 (CVN Test)가 없으며, 강도에서도
SF590A 재질이 SF590B 보다 떨어지고,  590B 는 QT 열처리재입니다.

SF590A, SF590B 재질 모두 탄소량이 0.60% maximum 으로, 기계구조용
탄소강 강재 JIS G 4051, S58C 재질 탄소량 (0.55~0.61%)과 비교 가능합니다.

Generally speaking carbon steels contain up to 2% total alloying
elements, and can be subdivided into as following categories
Low-carbon steels (저탄소강), which contain up to 0.30% Carbon
Medium-carbon steels (중탄소강), which contain 0.30% to 0.60% Carbon
High-carbon steels (고탄소강), which contain 0.60% to 1.00% Carbon.

※ Charpy V-Notch Impact Test (CVN : 샤르피 충격 시험 : 衝擊試驗)
Test to measure the absorbed energy, impact value, percentage
of brittle/ductile fracture, transition temperature, etc. with using
charpy impact testing machine in which test piece is supported by
two supports distant by 40mm so that the notch meets the middle
between supports and is broken by striking with one blow of
pendulum to the face opposite the notch.

샤르피 충격 시험기를 사용하여 시험편을 40mm 간격이 있는 두 개의
지지대에 올려 놓고, 또한 노치부를 지지대 사이의 중앙에 놓고
노치부의 뒷면을 해머로 1회만 충격을 주어, 시험편을 파단 시키고
흡수 에너지, 충격치, 파면율, 천이 온도 등을 측정하는 시험.
