ASTM A204 Grade A 강재는 몰리브덴 합금 보일러용 강재입니다.
ASTM A204 에는 3 가지 재질이 있고, 용접용 압력용기 강판 규정입니다.

A204 Grade A – 255 MPa minimum
A204 Grade B – 275 MPa minimum

A204 Grade C – 295 MPa minimum 의 Grade 별, 항복강도 규정 강재입니다.
강판 두께 40 mm 이상은 normalized 필수 강재이고

40 mm 이하는 As roll 이지만, 지정에 따라 normalized or stress relieved 입니다.
Grade A, B, C 에서의 Molybdenum 0.45~0.60% 합금량은 동일합니다.

※ Molybdenum (Mo)
Its use as an alloying element in steel increase hardenability and
in low alloy steels reduces the risk of temper brittleness.
It is used in stainless steels as well as high speed steels.
It is increases the high-temperature tensile and creep strengths in steel.

몰리브덴은 경화능 향상 원소이고, 저합금강에서는 템퍼 취성을 감소 시키는
역할을 합니다. 몰리브덴은 고속도강부터 스텐레스까지 합금 되는 원소입니다.
몰리브덴은 강에서 고온 강도와 크리프 강도를 높여주는 역할을 합니다.

※ Creep strength (크리프 강도)
Stress to cause specified strain in specified loading period of
time at constant temperature.
For example, the stress causing strain 1%, 0.1%, 0.01% in 1000h.

일정 온도하에서, 규정된 부하 시간에 규정된 변형이 생기는 응력.
예를 들면 1000 시간에 1%, 0.1% 또는 0.01%의 변형이
생기는 응력이 사용됩니다.

※ Stress Relief (응력 제거 어닐링 (풀림)
적당한 온도로 가열하고 균열화한 후, 적절한 온도로 냉각함으로써
실질적인 조직의 변화 없이 내부 응력을 줄이고자 시행하는 열처리.
