STS420J1 강재는 QT 열처리 가능한 마르텐자이트 스텐레스입니다.
13Cr 합금으로, 탄소량이 0.20% 수준으로, 오스테나이트계 스텐레스

STS304 — 0.08% max 와 비교하면, 무척 높은 탄소량임을 알 수 있습니다.
STS420J1 강재를 QT 열처리 하면 항복강도 440 MPa minimum 으로

STS304 항복강도 205 MPa minimum 과 비교하면, 2배 이상의 강도입니다.
STS420J1 강재는 기계적 성질에서는 STS304 보다 훨씬 높지만

STS304 오스테나이트 스텐보다 내식성에서 떨어지는 단점이 있는 재료입니다.
강도를 얻고, 내식성을 희생한 재료입니다.

STS420J1 보다 STS420J2 강재가 탄소량이 높아 더 높은 강도 내지만
STS420J1 강재의 생산이 적어 수급에 애로가 있으며

이런 경우 가장 비교 가능한 재질이 EN 1.4021, X20Cr13 강재로, 1.4021
소구경 환봉의 표면은 Peeled or Turned 연삭 냉간 표면 마무리입니다.

압연된 봉강 제품은 표면에 스케일, 미세한 결함이 있어, 이들 결함을 선삭 가공으로,
표면 결함을 제거해, 진원도와 직진도 향상, 좋은 표면 조도, 정밀한 치수로 생산한.
높은 품질의 제품을 말하며, 추가적인 가공없이 사용 가능한 수준의 봉강입니다.

Round bars products by turning on a lathe where the products
can be further processed by straightening and polishing.
This operation gives the bar special features with respect to shape,
dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
The removal of metal is carried out in such a way that the bright
product is generally free from rolling defects and surface decarburization.
For technical reasons some bars ordered as hot rolled products may be
delivered roughly turned(peeled), nevertheless such products are
treated as hot rolled products and not as bright products.
