Universal Beam 은 영국 규격의 H-Beam 을 말하고,
UC : British Universal Columns, UB : British Universal Beams 로 나뉩니다.

기둥용으로 쓰이는 UC 규격 H-Beam 은 31 종류의 size 가 있고
보 용도로 쓰인 UB 규격 H-Beam 은 81 종류의 size 가 있는,

영국 규격 BS4-1 탄소강 H-Beam 이고, 표면 품질은 EN 10163-3 class C,
subclass 1 을 따르며, 주요 공급 재질은 S355J2 재질입니다.

S355J2 재질의 경우, 항복강도 355 MPa minimum 으로, 탄소강 구조용 (structural)
고강도 강재로도 불리며, 영하 20℃ 에서 27 joule 충격 시험이 있는 재질입니다.

건축, 교량, 선박, 차량, 기타의 구조물용으로서 강도 및 필요에 따라
용접성을 중시하여 제조 된 강재를 말합니다.

※ High Tensile Strength Steel (고장력강 : 高張力鋼 : 하이텐강)
Steel products manufactured for building, bridges, ships, vehicles,
automobiles, other structural use and pressure vessel use which
require weldability, notch toughness, workability, and
tensile strength of 490 N/㎟ min. in general.
In cold rolled steel sheets, those of 340 N/㎟ min. in tensile
strength are called high tensile strength steels.

건축, 교량, 선박, 차량, 기타의 구조물 및 압력용기용으로서,
보통 인장강도 50kgf/㎟ (490N/㎟) 이상의 용접성, 노치 인성 및
가공성도 중시해서 제조 된 강재라고 합니다.
자동차용 냉연 강판에서는 인장강도 35kgf/㎟ (340 N/㎟)
이상을 고장력강이라고 합니다.
