1.4542 재질은 17% 수준의 크롬과 4% 수준의 니켈 원소에
구리 등의 석출 경화성 원소를 합금 해, 열처리로 높은 강도와 경도,

인성 (toughness)를 가지는 평판과 환봉 형상의 제품 재질입니다.
1.4542 +P960 으로 나타나는 재질은 1.4542 스텐을 석출 경화 열처리 해서

최소 인장강도 960 MPa 이상의 고강도 재료인 경우 사용하는 약호입니다.
높은 응력이 걸리는 shafts, gears, 엔진 부품, 항공기 구조체로 쓰입니다.

1.4542 재료의 Temper Symbol 로는, +P800, +P930, +P960, +P1070,
Solution Annealed (+AT) 조건이 있고, 각각의 기계적 성질이 있습니다.

보통 17-4PH, PH17-4, Grade 17-4 라고도 부르고, ASTM A564 UNS S17400,
AISI 630 등의 재질과 비교 가능한 내식성, 내마모성, 높은 강도, 경도 재료입니다.
