GCD45 재질은 이전의 구상흑연 주철 규격이고 지금은 GCD450입니다.
GCD45에서는 강도의 단위를 kgf/㎟ 사용했고, GCD450에서는 MPa입니다.

kgf/㎟ ↔ MPa 강도 단위의 전환은 1 kgf/㎟ = 9.8 N/㎟ (정확히는 9.80665)입니다.
kgf/㎟ 단위는 오래전에 사용하던 단위이고, 현행 ASTM, EN, KS는 MPa (메가 파스칼)입니다.

구상 흑연 주철 (Nodular 또는 Ductile Graphite Cast Iron)은 깨지기 쉬운 주철의
속성을, 조직을 구상화시켜 깨짐 저항성을 높이고, 연성을 향상시킨 주철을 말하고

내마모성, 주조성, 가공성, 인성, 연성이 좋아 일부 규격은 CVN 충격시험도 있습니다.
GCD400-18 재질의 경우는 CVN 14 minimum 값을 가집니다.

※ 구상흑연 (Spheroidal graphite, Nodular graphite : 球狀黑鉛)
Graphite in a dense spheroidal stage generated in spheroidal graphite cast
iron manufactured when it is treated with magnesium or the like.
마그네슘 등으로 흑연량을 줄이고, 흑연 모양을 둥근 공 형태로 만든 주철입니다.
흑연이 구상화 되면 기계적 성질이 향상되고, 내마모성이 증가합니다.

※ Charpy V-Notch Impact Test (CVN : 샤르피 충격시험 : 衝擊試驗)
Test to measure the absorbed energy, impact value, percentage
of brittle/ductile fracture, transition temperature, etc. with using
charpy impact testing machine in which test piece is supported by
two supports distant by 40mm so that the notch meets the middle
between supports and is broken by striking with one blow of
pendulum to the face opposite the notch.

샤르피 충격시험기를 사용하여 시험편을 40mm 간격이 있는 두 개의
지지대에 올려 놓고, 또한 노치부를 지지대 사이의 중앙에 놓고
노치부의 뒷면을 해머로 1회만 충격을 주어, 시험편을 파단시키고
흡수에너지, 충격치, 파면율, 천이온도 등을 측정하는 시험을 말합니다.
