EN AW 2017A 재질은 고강도 알루미늄 합금입니다.
2017A Temper T3 — 항복강도 250 MPa minimum으로

6061 Temper T4 — 항복강도 110 MPa minimum으로, 현저한 차이가 있습니다.
2017A-T3 경우를 탄소강 재질인 ASTM A36과 비교하면 항복강도는 같습니다.

하지만 2017-T3 경우의 비중은 2.79 g/㎤으로 탄소강 강재 7.85 g/㎤과
비교하면 불과 36% 수준의 경량이면서 탄소강은 따라올 수 없는 내식성도 있습니다.

EN AW 2017A 재료의 경우 높은 강도는 구리를 석출경화형 원소로 활용한 알루미늄
합금이고 Temper 조건에서 비열처리 Temper H111 조건도 있는 재질입니다.

경량이고 내식성이고, 비강도, 저온성, 내피로성 재료로 항공기용 수요가 대부분이거나,
자동차, 파스너, 고강도 구조재 (sturctural)로 쓰입니다.

※ Fatigue (피로 : 疲勞)
A damage of material due to periodically fluctuating stresses.
These stresses may have a maximum value, which is less then
the tensile strength of the material.
Fatigue often causes cracks starting with a notch at a sharp
corner of the surface or inner structure as a result of
defaults like inclusions or microcracks.

주기적인 반복 응력에 의한 재료의 손상을 말합니다.
이와 같은 응력은 재료의 인장강도보다는 낮은 수준에서 최대 값입니다,
재료의 피로에 의한 파괴는 노치 또는 개재물에 의한 결함, 미세한 크랙으로 야기됩니다.

※ Aging treatment (시효 처리 : Precipitation Hardening : 석출경화)
Heat treatment applied to a ferrous product after solution treatment
bring its properties to the required level.
Note : It consists of heating to and socking at one or more
specified temperature, followed by appropriate cooling.

철강재가 필요한 성질을 가지도록 용체화 처리한 뒤에 적용하는 열처리.
이 처리는 가열한 뒤 정해진 하나 또는 두 온도에서 일정 시간 유지하는
균열화 처리 후 적절하게 냉각하는 공정으로 이루어집니다.
