AL2024-T351 알루미늄 합금은 저 비중 고강도, 내식성 특징입니다.
AL2024 재료의 비중이 2.78 g/㎤, 탄소강 ASTM A36 — 7.85 g/㎤로 35% 수준이고

2024 재질의 항복강도 310 MPa minimum 일 때
A36 재질의 항복강도 250 MPa minimum으로 강도의 높음을 알 수 있으며

2024 알루미늄 합금이 Alloy 1100 보다는 내식성이 좋지 않지만, 내식성 재료이고
A36, A572-50, A709-50 탄소강 재질들은 내식성이 담보 되지 않는 것과 차이가 있습니다.

고강도이면서, 내식성이면서, 저 비중 재료, 높은 비강도 재료라면 대부분
항공기용 소재로 사용되거나, 높은 응력 환경에 낮은 비중이 필요한 환경에 사용됩니다.

AL2024-T351 합금은 Al-Cu 알루미늄 합금으로 구리를 석출경화 원소로 활용한
열처리로 강조를 높이는 합금으로, 높은 강도이지만, 용접성, 내식성은 떨어지는 재료입니다.

※ T351
Solution heat-treated, cold worked, stress relieved by stretching, and naturally aged
고용화 열처리 후 강도를 증가시키기 위해 냉간 가공을 하고, 잔류응력을
제거한 후에 자연 시효 시킨 상태를 말합니다

※ Natural ageing (자연시효)
Strengthening of an alloy by spontaneous precipitation of soluble constituents
from a super-saturated solid solution at room temperature.

상온에서 과포화 고용체로부터 가용성분을 석출하여 합금을 강화하는 것을 말합니다.

※ Temper
The term “temper” means the division of mechanical properties
individually formed by various processing and heat treatment
conditions in the manufacturing process.
금속 또는 합금에 요구되는 특정한 물리적 성질 또는 기계적 성질을
부여하는 공정(예를 들면 기계적 처리 및 열처리) 후의 상태를 말합니다.
