주철은 틀에 뜨거은 쇳물을 부어서 만들기에 굴곡진 형상, 다양한 모양의
형상을 만들기도 하지만, 원형, 사각 주철, 각재 (square bar)로도 제조가 가능합니다.

FC250 재질은 인장강도 250 MPa minimum 수준의 기계적 성질에
파단 되면 단면이 회색이라서 회주철 (gray cast iron : 灰鑄鐵)이라고 부릅니다.

강 (steel : 鋼)과는 다르게 탄소량이 높아 3.2~3.8% 수준의 높은 탄소량이고
강보다는 주조성이 좋으며, 기계 가공성, 압축 강도, 진동에 감쇠 능력이 좋습니다.

※ Mechanical properties (기계적성질 : 機械的性質)

reduction of area, hardness, impact value, fatigue strength, creep strength, etc.

인장강도, 항복점, 연신율, 단면 수축률, 경도, 충격치, 피로 강도,
크리프 강도 등 기계적인 변형 및 파괴에 관계되는 성질을 말합니다.

주요 성분이 탄소와 철이고, 일반적으로 탄소량이 2% 수준을 넘으며
