AMS 6416 규정은 1981년 폐지됐습니다.
이 규정을 대체한 규정이 AMS 6419입니다.

화학 조성이나, 규정 안에 있는 제품에서 차이가 없습니다.
하지만 AMS 6416에는 없는 진공용해 생산 방법이 AMS 6419에는 있습니다.

AMS 6416 : —
AMS 6419 : Premium Quality, Consumable Electrode Melted

위의 AMS 두 종류는 ASTM A646 Grade 300M과 대응 가능합니다.
이 재질은 Annealed 조건에서는 경도 HB 285 maximum이지만

QT 열처리성 좋은 Ni-Cr-Mo-V 합금강이라서 높은 강도 실현이 가능합니다.
Tempering 온도에 따라 차이가 있어, 항복강도 1240~1480 MPa 초항복강도 재료가 됩니다.

AMS 6419 규정 재질인 경우 진공 용해 방법으로 생산함으로, 강재 내부의 비금속 개재물과
가스, 기포가 제거되어 높은 청정성이 특징으로, 높은 인성 재료가 되어, 항공기용 재료로 쓰입니다.

Premium Aircraft Quality Steel is the ultimate quality that can currently be obtained in
production quantities and is usually applied to the most critical parts and components.
Steel conformed to this quality level is produced by the consumable electrode vacuum
arc remelting technique. AMS 2300 defines this quality and outlines testing requirements
Steels described herein which meet this quality are designated by the letters VAR
(Vacuum Arc Remelts) or CEVM (Consumable Electrode Vacuum Melted)

프리미엄 항공기강은 VAR (진공 아크 용해) 또는 CEVM (소모 전극 진공용해) 방법으로 생산하고
AMS 2300 (프리미엄 항공기 강재 청정성 자분탐상 검사) 적용을 받으며, 최고의 품질로
가장 중요한 부품으로 사용되는 강재를 말합니다.

The inclusions are examined by macro-structure examination and
micro-structure examination and the inclusions
of the former are defined as non-metallic
are defined as non-metallic inclusions visible with naked eyes.

강의 응고 과정에서 강 안에 석출 또는 혼입되어 들어가는
비금속성의 개재물로 매크로 조직 시험으로 조사하는데
앞에서 말한 개재물이란 육안으로 인지되는 비금속 개재물을 말합니다.
