AL6061-T4 재질의 특징은 내식성이 좋고 특히 해수에 내식성이 좋은 금속입니다.
강도는 구조용 (structural)으로 쓰기에는 부족한 감이 있는

항복강도 110 MPa minimum이지만 대신 성형성은 좋은 재질입니다.
인장강도 205 MPa minimum으로, 이를 탄소강 재료 중 강도가 낮은

열간 압연 연강판인 SPHC — 인장강도 270 MPa minimum,
SS400 — 인장강도 400 MPa minimum과 비교하면 강도를 가늠할 수 있습니다.

AL6061-T4 재질의 6000 series 알루미늄 합금은 Al-Mg-Si 합금으로
석출 경화 열처리로 강도를 높여서 사용하는 열처리형 합금입니다.

※ Temper T4
Solution Heat Treated and Naturally Aged to a Substantially Stable Condition
Applied to a products that are not cold worked after solution heat treatment,
or in which the effect of cold work in flattening or straightening may not be
recognized in applicable mechanical properties.
고용화 열처리 후 자연시효 경화(aged)해, 안정화된 상태를 말합니다.
고용화 열처리 후 냉간 가공을 하지 않으며, 편평도와 직선도를 가공을 하더라도
기계적 특성에는 영향을 미치지 않는 수준으로 합니다.

※ Artificial ageing (precipitation heat treatment) : 인공시효 (석출열처리)
A thermal treatment of an alloy at above room temperature to produce strengthening
by precipitation of soluble constituents from the super-saturated solid solution

과포화 고용체로부터 가용 성분의 석출에 의한 강화를 위하여
상온 이상에서 합금을 열처리하는 것을 말합니다.

※ Precipitation (석출 : 析出)
A phenomenon in which a crystal of a different phase is
separated from a solid solution and grows.

고용체로부터 분리된 다른상의 결정체가 나타나는 현상으로
합금 금속에서 나타나는, 탄소와 크롬이 결합된 Cr23C6, Mg2Si,
MgZn2, 와 같이 표기되는 금속간 물질을 말합니다.

이와 같은 현상은 스텐레스, 알루미늄합금, 동합금 등에서
나타날 수 있으며, 합금에 의해 또는 합금 재료의 열처리에 의해
이런 현상이 나타나면 금속의 강도와 경도가 높아집니다.
