SKH59 Bar 재질은 하이스 (High Speed Tool Steel : 고속도 공구강) 재질입니다.
QT 열처리 시에 HRC 66 minimum 수준의 고경도 재료의

고 탄소-몰리브덴-코발트-크롬 합금 재료로 이들 원소들은 QT 열처리성을
높이고 특히 코발트는 내마모성을 높이는 고가의 원소입니다.

JIS G 4403 SKH59 재질은 ASTM A600 M42, AISI M42 재질과 대응되며,
M42는 몰리브덴을 주요 합금원소로 사용하는 경우 붙이는 고속도강 약호입니다.

고속도강의 특징은 고속 절삭 시 발생하는 약 600℃ 수준의 온도에서도
고온 경도 재질이지만 단점으로는 취성 (깨지는 성질)이 높은 절삭용 공구로 사용됩니다.

※ Hardness (경도 : 硬度)
Resistance to plastic deformation usually by indentation.
For steel users, it is a parameter to express different mechanical
properties of steel. It should be considered together with other
properties. For example, if two different steel grades have both
50 HRC hardness, it does not necessary mean both have the
same mechanical properties or wear resistance.

압인이나 긁힘에 의한 변형, 특히 영구적인 변형에 대한 재료의
내구성으로 강재의 기계적 성질의 지표입니다.
다른 강재가, 같은 경도 값을 가지더라도 내마모성, 기계적 성질이
다를 수 있으니, 경도와 함께 다른 기계적 성질도 참고해야 합니다.

※ High speed tool steels (고속도 공구강 : 高速度工具鋼)
Tool steels used for cutting tools, dies, etc., in which comparatively great
amounts of alloy elements such as chromium, molybdenum, tungsten,
vanadium, cobalt, etc. are added to high carbon steels.
They are specially suitable for high speed cutting and are durable to
high temperature due to frictional heat.
They are generally classified into tungstenic and molybdenum according
to contained components.

고탄소강에 크롬, 몰리브텐, 텅스텐, 바나듐, 코발트 등의 합금원소를 비교적
다량으로 첨가하고, 절삭공구 및 금형 등으로 사용되는 공구강을 말합니다.
특히 고속절삭에 적합하며, 마찰열에 의한 고온에 잘 견디는 강재입니다.
일반적으로 함유 성분에 따라, 텅스텐계와 몰리브덴계로 나뉩니다.
