AMS 4161 규정 재료는 알루미늄 합금 AL 6061-T4 압출(extrusion) 재료에 대한 규정으로
ASTM B221 6061-T4와 대응되는 Bars, Rods, 와이어, 프로파일, 튜브에 대한 규정입니다.

실리콘과 마그네슘 합금인 6061 재료는 열처리로 다양한 Temper를 가지는 합금이고
석출 경화 열처리 방법으로 강도를 높여서 사용하는, 알루미늄 중 가장 내식성이 높은 재질입니다.

주로 구조체 (structural : 構造體)로 사용되며, 내식성이 높아 해수와 접촉이 많은 선박,
건축용 재료로 쓰이고, 용접성, 다양한 표면처리성을 가지면서 강도도 높습니다.

AMS 4161/AL6061-T4 재질의 항복강도는 110 MPa minimum이지만
6061-T6 — 항복강도 240 MPa minimum으로 두 배 이상 높은 강도 Temper입니다.

※ Temper
The term “temper” means the division of mechanical properties
individually formed by various processing and heat treatment
conditions in the manufacturing process.
금속 또는 합금에 요구되는 특정한 물리적 성질 또는 기계적 성질을
부여하는 공정(예를 들면 기계적 처리 및 열처리) 후의 상태를 말합니다.

※ Aluminum Temper T4 meaning
Solution heat-treated, and naturally aged
Applies to products which are not cold works after solution
heat treatment, and naturally aged to a substantially stable condition.
Therefore, the effect of cold work in flattening or
straightening may be small.

고용화 열처리 이후에 자연 시효 경화한 후 안정화 된 상태를 말하고
고용화열처리 이후에 냉간 가공을 실시하지 않으며 변형을 바로잡기 위한
냉간 가공은 기계적 성질에 영향이 작은 수준을 말합니다.

Solution heat-treated, and then artificial age hardened
Applies to products which are not cold works after solution
heat treatment, and then artificially age hardened.
Therefore, the effect of cold work in flattening or
straightening may be small.

고용화열처리 이후에 인공시효 경화한 후 안정화된 상태를 말하고
고용화열처리 이후에 냉간 가공을 실시하지 않으며 변형을 바로잡기 위한
냉간 가공을 해도, 효과가 작은 것을 말합니다.
