ToughMet® 3 재료의 특징은 스피노달 열처리로 강도가 높은 니켈-주석 청동입니다.
구리에 주석을 합금하면 주석 청동이지만, 여기에 니켈을 15% 수준 합금한

77Cu-15Ni-8Sn 화학 조성으로, 니켈을 구리에 합금하면 내식성이 높아지고
내구성이 좋으며, 열처리에 의해 시효경화성이 높은 재료가 됩니다.

ToughMet® 3 재료의 경우 AMS 4595 — 77Cu-15Ni-8Sn 화학 조성에
Solution Annealed and Spinodal Hardened 조건으로 , 이 경우 Temper TX00이 됩니다.

ToughMet® 3 재료는 Plate, Sheet 경우는 AMS 4595, ASTM B740 C72900,
Rod — AMS 4596, Tube — AMS 4598 규정과 대응됩니다.

※ 동합금에서 니켈 (Nickel : Ni) 원소
Nickel is improves the corrosion resistance and increases the mechanical strength.
It also helps with the erosion resistance in high velocity water flow.

구리에 니켈을 합금하면 내식성과 기계적 성질을 높이고, 고속 물 흐름에 대해
침식 부식 저항성 성질을 부여합니다.

※ Spinodal Heat Treatment (스피노달 열처리)
a thermal treatment of a solution-heat-treated product to produce property
changes such as hardening, strengthening, and conductivity increase by
spinodal decomposition of solid solution.
This treatment has also been called “age hardened”, spinodal hardened”, or
“spinodal decomposed”

스피노달 열처리는 스피노달 분리 고용화에 의해 강화와 경화 그리고 전도율을
높이는 고용화 열처리에 의한 생산을 말합니다.
스피노달 열처리는 시효경화, 스피노달 경화, 스피노달 분리라고도 부릅니다.
