탄소 공구강 강재는 열간 압연 또는 단조 방법으로 제조합니다.
원소재 (Billet, Bloom, Slab 등)는 강재 내부의 산소를 제거한 Killed Steel로 제조하며,

대부분의 철강 재료에서는 재료를 약하게 하는 산소를 불순물로 봐 산소를 제거하려 노력하며,
산소 제거 정도에 따라 Semi-Killed Steel , Killed Steel, Fulley Killed Steel로 구분합니다.

탄소 공구강 강재는 태엽, 목공용 드릴, 쇠톱, 도끼, 면도날, 프레스 형틀,
게이지, 치공구, 띠톱 용도로 쓰입니다.

※ Killed Steel (킬드강, 탈산강, 脫酸鋼)
