80/20 Nickel Chrome 재질의 특징은 니켈 80% 수준에 크롬 20% 합금체입니다.
이와 같이 합금하면 1200℃ (2000℉) 수준까지 사용 가능한 전기 저항체가 됩니다.

이 합금은 잦은 온도 변화에도 사용이 자유롭고, 높은 내산화성이 특징입니다.
일반 산업용으로 로(爐 : Furnace) 부품과 항공 우주 용도의 전열선으로 사용됩니다.

ASTM B344 80Ni20Cr 합금 규정에는 화학 조성과 온도 영역별 변화 수준만 있고
대응되는 DIN-EN 2.4869, NiCr 80 20 규정 강도를 보면 Soft annealed 조건에서

D2mm까지 와이어 기준, 인장강도 650 MPa minimum입니다.
비중은 8.3 g/㎤, 비자성체 (non-magnetic)입니다.

B344 규정에는 80Ni20Cr, 60Ni16Cr, 38Ni21Cr, 35Ni20Cr 합금 종류가 있고
이 중 80Ni20Cr 재질의 Nominal percent change in resistance with temperature 가장 낮습니다.

이 재질은 이름도 많아 80/20 Nickel Chrome, 80Ni20Cr, NiCr 80 20, DIN EN 재질 번호 2.4869
Nichrome / Nichrome V, Brightray C, Cronix 80, Nikrothal 80, Chromalloy, Chromel으로도 불립니다.

※ Oxidation resistance (내산화성 : 耐酸化性)
A property of oxidation resistance at a high temperature.
고온에서 산화 (철의 부식)에 견디는 성질을 말합니다.

※ Soft annealed (softening)
Heat treatment with the object of reducing the hardness of the
ferrous product to a given level.
철강을 규정된 경도 수준으로, 낮추기 위한 열처리를 말합니다.

※ Wire
wire rod mainly cold-formed by drawing and wound in coil
The cross-section is generally circular and there are ellipse, squire,
rectangle, hexagon, octagon, other section(other than steel strip)
Generally it has a constant cross-section for full length and
section dimension is very small comparing to the length.
