AISI4140 은
Cr-Mo 합금강재입니다.

니켈 (Ni) 가 빠진 강재로
크롬과 몰리브덴이 합금 된 강재입니다.

JIS와 KS의 SCM440 강재와
그 성분에서는 비교 가능하지만

SCM440강재는
Ni가 0.25% 이하로 합금 되어 있고,

AISI 4140 규정에 Ni가 합금 되지 않아,
KS/JIS SCM440 강종과 차별 됩니다.

KS/JIS 에서의 SCM440 강종에서,
니켈(Nickel)이 0.25% 이하가 합금 되지만, 워낙 양이 미미해

SCM강으로 불리지
SNCM강으로는 불리지 않습니다.

적어도 Ni이 0.30%는 합금 되어야
SNCM강이 됩니다…..KS와 JIS의 합금강 규정에 의해.

강의 성질을 향상 시키기 위해, 또는 소정의 성질을 구비 시키기 위해
합금 원소를 1종 또는 2종 이상을 합금 시킨 강.

※ Alloy (합금 : 合金)
Product consisting of a metal and one or more elements totally
soluble in it in the liquid state and capable of entering into
solid solution or forming a compound.

한 종류 이상의 다른 원소가 포함되고, 액체 상태에서는 그들이
완전히 용해되지만, 고체 상태에서는 그 원소들은, 고용되거나
화합물을 형성하는 금속 소재.

※ Ingot (鋼塊 : 강괴)
Products obtained by pouring liquid steel into ingot mold
or semi-finished products produced by continuous casting
Generally formed into semi-products or products after the
subsequent hot-forming process or forging process.
Includes steel ingot remelt by vacuum arc or
electrogas slag process and cast

전로, 전기로 등의 제강로에서 정련한 강을 주형에 주입하여
응고 시킨 것으로서, 압연, 단조, 압출 등의 각 공정에 공급되는 소재.
연속 주조로 제조 되어, 분괴 공정을 생략하고 다음 공정에 공급되는 것은
연주 강편, 또는 주편이라고 하지만, 이것도 강괴에 포함 시킨다.
