TB480 은 Titanium Bar 인장강도 최소 480 MPa 입니다.

열간 생산품인 경우 TB480H 냉간 생산품인 경우는 symbol TB480C 로 표기합니다.
Bar 인 경우는 TB480, Plate 인 경우는 TP480 이고, 비중은 4.51g/㎤ 입니다.

철강과 무게를 비교하면 0.6 수준이고
알루미늄과 비교하면 1.6 배 수준입니다.

금속을 철강과 비교해 무게는 가볍지만
TB480 의 인장강도 480 MPa minimum 으로

탄소강 고장력강재인 JIS SM490A
KS SM355A, DIN-EN S355JR 과 비슷한 강도입니다.

무게 대비 강도가 높아 비강도 (比强度)가 높으면서도
탁월한 내식성, 비자성 (투자율 0.1)이 요구될 때 사용합니다.

내식성이 우수한 이유는, 티타늄 표면 피막 형성 때문입니다.
TB480, TB340, TB270, 3종류를 공업용 순티타늄이라고 부르고

순 티타늄 재료는 화학 장치, 석유 정제 시설, 펌프 및 제지 산업에
사용되며, 내해수성이 극히 좋은 금속입니다.
