Stainless Steel (스테인레스강) 을 줄여서 “SS”로 쓰고 있습니다.
“CS” 라고 쓰면 Carbon Steel (탄소강) 을 말합니다.
하나의 표에 Stainless Steel와, Carbon Steel 이
같이 있는 경우, 스텐인지, 탄소강인지 구분하려고 사용합니다.
SS316, SS304 재질은 ASTM, DIN-EN, JIS 규격서 Steel Symbol 로는 없습니다.
관행상, 편리하게 구분하려고 사용하고 있으니,
SS316, SS304 로 표기할 따름입니다.

JIS G 4305 SUS316, SUS316L — Cold –rolled plate, sheet, strip 과 같이
ASTM, DIN-EN, JIS Standard 마다 같은 SS316 이라도
화학 원소 함량과 기계적 성질이 다를 수 있으니, 주의가 필요합니다.
※ Mechanical properties (기계적 성질 : 機械的性質)
Various properties relating to mechanical deformation and
breaking such as tensile strength, yield point or proof strength,
elongation, reduction of area, hardness, impact value,
fatigue strength, creep strength, etc.
인장강도, 항복점, 연신율, 단면 수축율, 경도, 충격치, 피로 강도,
크리프 강도 등 기계적인 변형 및 파괴에 관계되는 성질을 말합니다.
※ Stainless steel
Alloy steels containing chromium 10.5% or more, carbon 1.2%
or less to improve the corrosion resistance.
They are classified into 5 types, which are
martensitic, ferritic, austenitic, austenitic-ferritic and precipitation hardening.

스텐인레스강이란 내식성을 향상 시킬 목적으로 Cr 또는 Cr + Ni 을
합금 시킨 합금강으로, 일반적으로는 Cr 함유량이 약 11% 이상 합금된
강을 스테인레스강이라고 하고, 그 조직에 따라 마르텐사이트계
페라이트계, 오스테나이트계, 오스테나이트 + 페라이트계인 이상 (Duplex : 二相)계
석출경화계 로, 5 가지로 나뉩니다.
